All over the world, many have described the seventh Chief of the United Nations, Kofi Annan has a man with a noble heart who cares for the betterment of all mankind.
Kofi Annan has served in and chaired several organizations geared towards better governance, improvement of lives of people and call for global peace. His reign as the United Nations Chief lasted from 1997 to 2006, when news broke of his demise in Switzerland, the entire world joined Ghanaians to mourn.
On September 13, 2018, family members including his wife, Nane Maria, children, world leaders and traditional rulers submitted heartwarming tributes at the funeral grounds (Accra International Conference Centre) before he was laid to rest at the new Milliary cemetery at Burma Camp Accra.
In attendance were United Nations officials, Antonio Gutteres (the current Chief of the United Nations), President of Zimbabwe, H.E Emmerson Mnangagwa, Ivorian President, H.E Alassane Ouattara, Liberian President, H.E George Weah, former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo and many more.
