Ghana’s leading telecommunication company, MTN has unveiled its new innovative platform called the MTN Shortz, basically focusing on creative content developers within Ghana. The platform can easily be accessed via the MTN Play portal to upload a variety of short videos that fall within specified categories such as comedy, animation, podcast, games and films.
During the unveiling at the media centre located withing MTN Ghana head office on August 8, 2018, compèred on-air personality, Naa Arshokor, the company executives led by the Chief Marketing Officer, Mr. Noel Kojo-Ganson threw more light on how the platform and the people qualified to join. The platform is opened to all creative contents creators like animators, game developers, newspaper houses, movie producers, TV and Radio stations, bloggers and social media influencers, with this, the company is looking at empowering content creators to develop the passion for their works, produce rich contents and also make enough money from their works.
But, to enter the challenge and stand the chance to win, content creators must register at MTNShortz select their preferred category and submit their contents. Judges from the competition include Ghanaian filmmakers, Kofi Asamoah and Kafui Danku.
Mr. Kojo-Ganson disclosed that, MTN had dedicated a total of GHC 50,000 in cash prizes towards rewarding content that promotes African culture and values, while also educating and informing the audience about essential life knowledge. Mr. Kojo-Ganson said “we have enlisted the services of seasoned individuals who would help us reward the best out of the lot and at the end of the competition, which is the 5th of September 2018, a grand event would be held and the overall best content from all five categories wins the grandest cash prizes”.
