After several weeks of running a productive promotional campaign on the concert to officially usher entertainers into the festive season dubbed BF Suma Ghana Connect. The day finally arrived at the Fantasy Dome, Accra on October 27, 2018. The event was put together by a pharmaceutical company, BF Suma Ghana and managed by one of a leading event company, Empire Ghana (Organizers of Ghana Meets Naija).
On the bill were self-acclaimed dancehall king, Shatta Wale, female vocal powerhouses, Wendy Shay, Adina, new love-songs composers on the block, Kuami Eugene and Kidi from Ghana and famed Nigerian afro-pop superstars, Olamide and Tiwa Savage.
The show kicked off with performances from budding acts like Dope Nation, the newest hit-making group, La Meme Gang, female songstress Adina came right after. Author of ‘Uber Driver’, Wendy Shay pulled worship-like entrance with her song ‘Palm 35’ before doing what she does best with sensual performances and well-rehearsed dance movements with her dancers. Hit-makers Kuami Eugene and Kidi allowed the crowd to help with their performances as every single song they dropped received resounding replied from all corners of the auditorium.
It was time for Nigeria, and the country’s queen of Afro-pop, Tiwa Savage opened the way with a stunning display from dancing to singing, she was soon followed by Olamide who brought a different kind of energy to auditorium due to his kind of music which is loved by the youth.
Champion Shatta Wale, fresh from the launch of his ‘Reign’ album at the same auditorium closed the show. His name was screamed aloud through the four corners of the auditorium by the crowd who wanted him on stage so badly. Shatta Wale is indeed most people’s favourite Ghanaian musician at this moment, even Olamide called on the country to rally behind him. On stage, Shatta was in his element throughout, dishing out hit after hit fetching loud applauds and cheers from the crowd.
