As if a new political leader from the people’s hearts have been elected, such was the euphoria when the Prince of contemporary Highlife and Afrobeats, Kidi entered Kwahu from Nkawkaw.
With a roaring multitude of fans from far and near of Kwahu following him during an ecstatic float across the selected towns. Kidi made stops to share Christmas gifts with each fan but that came at risk, most stopped nearly led to mobbing. However, that was expected because the kid from Abetifi has now metamorphosed to KIDI, a global brand.
Kwahu’s main blueprint has been on easter celebration, Kidi in town means turning Christmas into another easter, and the crowd were up for it. Before night could fall, the street of Kwahu Abetifi was already filled with fans of the latest sensation in the African music. The crowd cheered every single act that appeared on stage from start to finish.
The newest trend makers of the hip-hop world, starting with Quamina MP, coming on stage with previous hit singles and the current banger, Amanfuo Girl, obviously, one that the crowd was waiting for. Kofi Mole even hoisted the energy when he was ushered onto the stage, received by buzzing cheers with all lights on the stage off, the only light visible was the ones from the phones of the fans. It was a beautiful spectacle. Rising music duo, Dopenation followed right after Kofi Mole, maintaining a staggering atmosphere within the packed street of Abetifi. The duo worked the crowd into dance fever, dropping smashing single throughout.
Kidi, born Dennis Nana Dwamena climbed the stage with Adiepena, clad in lemon green pants, matching his Nike sneakers, bandana tied around his neck in the same colours and white T-Shirt. He waved his long white towel to moved the already excited crowd into his magnetic groove. The 26-year old singer wins the hearts of women easily on every stage he has graced. Interestingly, Kwahu Abetifi gave him more than he had imagined, the crowd sang all his songs, the highest height came when a lady joined him on stage, performed with him, Kidi dashed her money. She was now a star!
Other guests performers, Darko Vibes, King Promise, Joey B, and Kidi’s label (Lynx Ghana) mate, Kuami Eugene hopped onto the stage, to perform various collaborative singles with Kidi.
