The fight against racism has finally being accepted by all around the world.
In an Instagram live video chat with CNN Africa, Co-Founder of The Black Lives Matter, Opal Tometi narrated how the movement started. She told viewers how it became necessary after a black teen was murdered.
And she together with two other women began the movement from Facebook to make bring an end to the brutality against black people not just in America but elsewhere in the world.
Eight years now and the movement has become a global phenomenon that’s helping shape the foundation of justice and equality and also pushing for action-oriented conversation around race.
Black Lives Matter took over the world in protest for justice for the recently murdered black man called George Floyd by a police officer who knelt on his neck for nine minutes. These case and others spark further protests not only in America but in different countries as citizens seek equal treatment and end to racism.
