One of the trusted beverage brands in the country, Vitamilk Ghana reached out to new mothers in different hospitals in Accra.
As part of the company’s corporate social responsibility and quest to place smiles on the faces of mothers on this special day, the staff of the company visited three different hospitals in the capital city of Ghana, Accra.
The staff of Vitamilk Ghana visited Kaneshie Polyclinic where they donated well-packaged products by Babies and Toddlers to mothers who just delivered babies. The mothers there used the opportunity to thank Vitamilk Ghana for the gesture towards them and for even putting aside the day to spend time with them at the facility.
Some of the working new mothers also pleaded with the government to extend the maternity leave giving to mothers from three months to five months in order to enable them to bond properly with their kids.
After Kaneshie Hospital, the staff moved to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and embarked on the same donations exercise to several new mothers over there before concluding the activities at the Mamprobi Polyclinic.
The managing director of Vitamilk, Samuel Dankyi-Boateng threw his weight behind the plea by the new mothers for an extension of maternity leave. He also added that this isn’t just a nine-day wonder by the company for they will be carrying out several of such exercise in addition to their project that feeds less-privileged kids every day in Accra.
