Nigerian Afro-pop musician, Mr Eazi has revealed how he became a music superstar and a successful entrepreneur in less than 2 years of breaking into the Nigerian music market.
The singer who recently released a mixtape titled ‘Life is Eazi-Vol.2: Lagos to London’ in a chat with Showtime in Nigeria explained how a music video worth $1000 made him the musical superstar he is today.
“All it took for me to start my career was a video that cost me $1000; a career that has allowed me to tour the world, own a business and employ over 100 people. I have funded four videos for artists in the past two years, thereby creating immense opportunities for them.
One of those artists was recently nominated for a BET award, so this is ultimately the real motivation behind this cause – providing opportunities for emerging artists as well as mentoring them to have the knowledge to become music entrepreneurs like myself”, he said.
The ‘I surrender’ hitmaker said that his aim for the initiative is to provide less privileged artists with resources needed to boost their music careers.
“The mission is simple; to uncover independent, emerging, talented artists and to provide them with the resources and exposure to launch their own careers. By partnering with iconic figures in the music industry, I intend to equip the artists with the tools, in-depth industry knowledge, network, and funds necessary for them to not only achieve their full potential but to sustain the independence they need to become music entrepreneurs.” he added.
