Okyeame Kwame & Kofi Kinaata Nod To International Coconut Festival 2019

Ghana’s award-winning musicians Okyeame Kwame and Kofi Kinaata have been signed as brand ambassadors for International Coconut Festival 2019.

The festival is scheduled to begin from September 24th to 26 at the Accra International Conference Centre, with the sole aim of providing a platform to connect and serve the Ghanaian community and other international participants through the development and promotion of coconut.

At the signing ceremony at the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, the Chief Executive Officer, Madam Efua Asare outlined the importance of coconut and the contribution to the generation of revenues for the country.

”Every part of the coconut and even the tree is used for furniture, the people in the federation and Ghana Export Promotion Authority want to bring the fore how important coconut is to Ghana and how it can bring in foreign exchange”, she said.

The festival will capture every little thing that coconut can be used for, and will also bring people from all the world to participate in the festival.

According to the organizing body (African Coconut Group and Ghana Export Promotion Authority) of the festival, the decision to select Okyeame Kwame and Kofi Kinaata was due to their commitment to the promotion of Ghana through their works. Okyeame Kwame’s album ‘Made In Ghana’ was mentioned as the key factor in selecting him, while Kofi Kinaata was selected because he comes from Western Region, noted to be the hub of coconut in Ghana.

The two musicians signed and agreed to be part of the festival from till the end, and promised to promote coconut on a regular basis.
