The mortal remains of the seventh General Secretary of the United Nations, Kofi Annan arrived in Accra (Kotoka International Airport) from Geneva a short while ago. A brief ceremony led by the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellence Nana Akufo-Addo was held.
After which the body will be sent to the 37-Military hospital, the general public will be given the chance to file past the remains on Tuesday, September, 11, 2018 prior to the final burial on Thursday, September 13, 2018.
Kofi Annan served as the Chief of the United Nations from 1997 to December 2006.
