Former General Secretary New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, affectionately called Sir John, has passed on.
He is reported to have died in Accra after a short illness, which COVID-19 was part of. But he said to be recovering under treatment at the ICU of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Before his death, he was the Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission.
Mr Kwadwo Afriyie Owusu was announced, Eugene Arhin, the Communication Director for the President shared the message on Facebook shortly after his death.
He wrote:
“RIP Sir John…Till we meet again,” he wrote on Facebook.
