Selected Business Start-Ups Receive Cheques From Presidential Business Support Program Initiated By President Nana Akufo-Addo

President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo has presented cheques to selected business start-ups to fulfil his promise of supporting young entrepreneurs.

The President Business Support Program is an initiative of President Nana Akufo-Addo under National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program via the Ministry for Business Development, the second phase of the program dubbed Window Two was held at the Jubilee House on November 7th, 2019, hosted by ace broadcaster and speaker Kafui Dey, this comes after the success of Window One.

Young Entrepreneurs who benefitted from the program shared the impact it has had on them and their various businesses over the years in a short documentary shown at the event.

President Nana Akufo-Addo reiterated his willingness to support emerging entrepreneurs to grow their businesses during his keynote address at the event, owing to the fact Ghana’s population is predominately made of youth. The President provided five key criteria for the selection of the business – the business must be a wholly Ghanaian-owned start-up, be a micro-business, be a business with a potential sustainability growth, have the ability to scale up and finally have the medium to create jobs.

The President Business Support Program doesn’t only provide cash to business start-ups, the program also trained entrepreneurs and equip them with necessary tools for growth and more. In attendance, were the minister of information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Deputy Chief of Staff of the President of Ghana, Samuel Abu Jinapor and more.
