The Black Star International Film Festival 2018 opened in Accra on August 11 showcasing films from across the continent, but mainly focusing on that coming from Ghana.
Attendees at the opening day held at the Silverbird Cinema, Accra Mall were addressed by the Second Lady of Ghana on the need to improve on the quality of films from the country, wholistically accepting the industry and turning it around for the good of all. Ghanaian silver screen goddesses, Zynnell Zuh and Juliet Ibrahim were among the many patrons on an opening day.
This is the second instalment of the festival as the first edition received equal patron from film lovers in the country. Prior to the official opening of the festival, there was a symposium held for stakeholders and more. The festival ends on August 18, 2018.
