Oscar, Emmy, and Tony award-winning actress, Viola Davis will be on your screens soon as Former First Lady Of The United States, Michelle Obama in a new anthology drama, “The First Lady”, produced by Showtime, set to be premiered on April 17th, 2022.

The show is slated to be a reframing of American history and leadership, told through the lens of the women at the heart of the White House. Many of U.S. history’s most impactful and world-changing decisions have been hidden from view in the government’s East Wing, often heavily influenced or outright independently made by America’s charismatic, complex and dynamic First Ladies.

Davis isn’t the only star playing the role of a first lady, Michelle Pfeiffer will play Better Ford while Gillian Anderson plays Eleanor Roosevelt.
