Within a short space of time, the Ghanaian music scene was electrified with hit songs and thrilling performances by Ebony Reigns. Her style was unique and was quickly given the title of the ‘Next Big Thing’ in the dancehall and Afrobeat Fraternity rocking shoulders with almost all the major stars.
But, her stay on the scene didn’t last long for the world to actually see what she was made of in terms of talents and stagecraft. An unfortunate road accident took away such a beautiful soul on Thursday, February 8, 2018, sending the entire nation into a state of shock. Tributes trickled in from around the world and her funeral services were graced by all-and-sundry including family and friends.
On Saturday, July 21, 2018, the mother of the late musician, Beatrice Oppong Marthin organized another funeral service in London attended by relatives and family. Songs by the singer were performed while attendees paid their last respect to the falling ’90s Bhad Gal’ of dancehall.
Ebony Reigns legacy include songs like Sponsor, poison, Maame Hw3, Kupe, the list goes on.
