YouTube, LLC an American video-sharing website has certified Stonebwoy’s Epistle Of Mama album two-phase; reggae & afrobeats album for clocking over 10 million-plus streams in addition to 100k subscribers on YouTube based on the company’s statistics. The endorsement came with a citation from the company.
This to me is one of the greatest achievement in the life of a reggae/dancehall artist in Ghana looking at how far the journey has been but worth traveling. It’s an eye-opener to every reggae/dancehall artists and all artists in general drawing attention to the fact that, there is a market for every music genre. The only thing is, it depends on what you’re promoting.
If we water down the whole endorsement thing from YouTube, one will be forced to ask, what will influence these unbelievable number of people jamming to an album is with so much enthusiasm? It all boils down to promoting good content, alluring storylines, explore sounds, be original, staying relevant as possible and learning more about the music business.
