Afshin Esmaeil Ghaderzade from Iran has earned the title of the World’s Shortest Man after visiting Guinness World Records Offices in Dubai, at only 2 feet, 1.6 inches tall – he is 20 years.
The record-keeping organization says they tripled-checked their measurements to officially named Afshin the shortest man on planet earth.
“Just thinking about being part of the Guinness World Records family is like a dream,” Afshin said in a statement. “I struggle to believe it sometimes.”
“It is like you wake up the next day and the entire world knows who you are. That’s magical,” he added.
He has faced a lot of challenges like schooling (he stopped) and living a normal life, he just recently learned how to write his name and he enjoys watching cartoons like Tom and Jerry, and football, which he says “are heavy to use for a long time.”
“Continuing treatment and my son’s physical weakness are the main reasons he stopped studying,” said Esmaeil Ghaderzade.
